The Nagpur police have substantially enhanced medical care provisions for the more than one lakh candidates participating in the ongoing police recruitment drive. This critical initiative, which began on Wednesday at the Police Line grounds in Takli, comes in direct response to heightened safety concerns across Maharashtra following the tragic death of an aspirant in Beed district.

Heightened Vigilance Following Tragic Incident

The unfortunate demise of a candidate in Beed has prompted authorities throughout Maharashtra to implement significantly increased vigilance and preparedness measures, particularly during the physically demanding endurance tests. The recruitment process, which involves rigorous physical examinations that can place substantial stress on participants, is scheduled to continue until the conclusion of April.

To prevent any further untoward incidents and ensure immediate medical intervention when needed, the Nagpur police leadership under Commissioner of Police Ravinder Singal, Joint Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy, and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Deepak Aggrawal have deployed comprehensive emergency medical facilities at the recruitment site.

Comprehensive Medical Deployment

Under the direct supervision of medical superintendent Dr. Sandeep Shinde from the Nagpur City Police Hospital, a dedicated medical team consisting of four qualified doctors has been stationed at the Police Hospital in Takli. This team is prepared to handle any medical emergencies that may arise during the testing process.

Furthermore, four fully equipped ambulances remain on constant standby at the recruitment grounds. These emergency vehicles are stocked with essential life-saving medicines, Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS), and other critical pharmaceutical supplies specifically designed to address dehydration, heat-related illnesses, potential cardiac emergencies, or any sudden medical crises that candidates might experience.

Hospital Bed Reservations for Serious Cases

"Additionally, we have proactively reserved beds at major healthcare facilities throughout the city to handle any serious emergencies that require hospitalization," explained Dr. Shinde. Approximately fifteen beds each have been prepared and kept available at both Mayo Hospital and the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

An additional forty beds have been specifically allocated at the Police Hospital to accommodate any recruitment-related medical cases. This multi-tiered approach ensures that candidates receive appropriate care whether they require basic treatment at the site or more intensive hospital-based intervention.

Strict Safety Protocols and Candidate Guidance

Senior police officials emphasized that the entire recruitment process is being conducted with strict adherence to established safety protocols. They have strongly urged all aspirants to maintain proper hydration throughout the testing period, openly report any pre-existing medical conditions to officials, and carefully follow all medical advice provided during the examinations.

The authorities have provided firm assurances that every necessary step is being implemented to conduct the recruitment drive smoothly while prioritizing candidate safety above all other considerations. This comprehensive medical preparedness initiative represents a significant commitment to protecting the well-being of thousands of young individuals pursuing careers in law enforcement.
