Nagpur Police Uncovers Prostitution Racket Operating Under Spa Centre Front
In a significant crackdown, the Beltarodi police in Nagpur busted a prostitution racket that was operating under the guise of a spa centre in Manish Nagar on Tuesday. The operation led to the rescue of three women, hailing from Odisha, Sambhajinagar, and Satara, who were allegedly forced into the illicit trade.
Decoy Operation Leads to Raid and Arrest
Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Beltarodi police station, led by senior inspector Mukund Kawade and under the supervision of zonal DCP Rashmitha Rao, executed a strategic plan. They sent a decoy to the spa to confirm suspicions that it was being used as a front for flesh trade. After receiving confirmation, the police conducted a raid around 5:30 PM, resulting in the arrest of the main accused, Sonam Adigine (28).
Exploitation of Vulnerable Women Uncovered
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the racket targeted poor women from various parts of Maharashtra and other states. These women were lured with promises of financial gain and subsequently coerced into prostitution. The rescued individuals have been safely shifted to a shelter home, where they are receiving support and care.
