The raid was conducted jointly by multiple police units, including the Bharosa Cell, the all-woman Damini Squad, and the Sitabuldi police. As part of Operation Thunder, the police team meticulously scanned suspected individuals, both men and women, in the slum area to identify potential drug peddlers. The operation was intelligence-driven, focusing on high-risk locations known for illicit activities.

Max, the specially trained narcotic detection dog, played a pivotal role in the operation. Working alongside a women's team led by an assistant police inspector and the anti-narcotics squad, Max was deployed to conduct thorough checks in the slum. Initially, frisking and manual searches by the police did not yield any contraband, highlighting the challenges in detecting hidden narcotics.

However, when Max was brought in for a detailed search inside the residence of Naziya Khan, the alleged peddler, the canine immediately alerted the team. Following Max's precise indication, the police recovered three packets of ganja that were cleverly hidden on the premises.
