Nagpur: Speeding Tipper Truck Collision Claims Young Life, Leaves Five Injured
A devastating road accident in the Pitesur area under the jurisdiction of Gittikhadan police station in Nagpur resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man and injuries to five of his friends on Saturday. The incident occurred when a speeding tipper truck violently collided with the car carrying the group, who were on their way back from a planned shrine visit before appearing for an examination.
Details of the Tragic Incident
The victims, all residents of Zingabai Takli and nearby localities, included Aryan Daf, who tragically lost his life, along with his friends Abhijit Khadke (21), Gaurav Kamble (20), Rohan Tandekar (20), Abhishek Durai (21), and Aman Pardhi (22). According to police reports, the friends had organized a visit to the Hanuman Mandir in Babulkheda, traveling in Aryan's car with Aman at the wheel.
Around 8:30 AM, while en route to Babulkheda via Pitesur, the group encountered a change in plans. Abhijit mentioned he had not bathed, and Abhishek expressed concerns about being late for his exam. Consequently, they decided to return home, executing a U-turn on the road.
The Collision and Aftermath
As they neared Swaraj Farmhouse, a tipper truck traveling at high speed from the opposite direction smashed into their car. The impact was severe, causing the car to spin out of control and crash into the compound wall of the farmhouse. Shockingly, the tipper driver fled the scene immediately, abandoning his vehicle at the site of the accident.
All six friends sustained injuries in the crash, with Aryan suffering the most critical wounds. They were promptly rushed to a private hospital located on Mankapur Ring Road. Unfortunately, doctors pronounced Aryan dead upon arrival. His five friends are currently undergoing medical treatment for their injuries, with their conditions being monitored closely.
Legal Action and Police Investigation
Gittikhadan police have registered an offence in connection with the accident. Abhijit Khadke filed a formal complaint at the police station, leading to a case being registered against the unidentified tipper driver. The charges include multiple sections under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, specifically Sections 106(1), 125(A), 125(B), and 281, along with co-sections 134 and 187 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Authorities have launched an intensive search operation to trace and apprehend the fleeing driver. The investigation is ongoing, with police examining the scene and gathering evidence to hold the responsible party accountable for this tragic loss of life and injuries.
