Namakkal Man Arrested for Heinous Crime Against Minor Girl
A 27-year-old man was apprehended on Sunday in connection with the sexual abuse of a seven-year-old girl near Kumarapalayam in Namakkal district. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, has sent shockwaves through the local community and prompted swift police action.
Details of the Disturbing Incident
The young victim, daughter of a bakery worker residing in Kumarapalayam, went missing while playing near her home on Saturday evening. She returned shortly afterward in a distressed state, crying and with visible blood stains on her clothing. Concerned parents immediately rushed her to Kumarapalayam Government Hospital for medical examination.
Doctors at the hospital conducted a thorough examination and confirmed the horrifying truth – the child had been subjected to sexual abuse. Following this medical confirmation, the girl's family filed an official complaint with Kumarapalayam police, setting in motion an intensive investigation.
Swift Police Response and Identification
Namakkal District Superintendent of Police S Vimala took personal charge of the case, forming ten special teams dedicated to tracking down the perpetrator. Investigators meticulously reviewed CCTV footage from the vicinity, which ultimately led to the identification of the suspect.
The accused has been identified as a 27-year-old mason hailing from Salem district. His image was widely circulated among local communities as part of the manhunt operation.

Alert residents of Chinnappa Nayakkanpalayam near Kumarapalayam recognized the suspect from circulated images. In a spontaneous reaction, locals confronted the man, physically assaulted him, and restrained him by tying his hands before notifying authorities.
Police personnel arrived promptly at the scene, confirmed the man's identity, and formally took him into custody. He was transported to the police station for further processing and interrogation.

News of the arrest spread rapidly through the community, triggering an emotional response from residents. More than one hundred people gathered outside the police station, blocking access in protest against the heinous crime.
