Nashik Man Arrested for Sexual Exploitation in False Job Promise Case
In a disturbing case from Nashik, the Satpur police have arrested a 63-year-old man, Ravindra Erande, for allegedly sexually exploiting a woman after falsely promising to secure a government job for her son. The arrest was made on Friday night following an investigation that uncovered a web of deceit and criminal activity.
Investigation Reveals Multiple Crimes
The case came to light when Erande himself filed a complaint with the Satpur police station, alleging that suspects were demanding a ransom of Rs 12 lakh. They threatened to leak private photos stored on his stolen tablet. Police officials acted swiftly, arresting four suspects in connection with the ransom demand.
During the search of electronic devices, authorities discovered 121 obscene video clips featuring various women and friends of the complainant. This discovery prompted a deeper probe into Erande's activities, leading to the emergence of the sexual exploitation allegations.
Woman Alleges Repeated Exploitation
A woman, who belongs to the Scheduled Caste community, has come forward to register a complaint against Erande. She alleges that he repeatedly sexually exploited her under the pretext of securing a government job for her son—a promise that was never fulfilled.
The officer from Satpur police station stated, "The woman was taken to various hotels in Nashik and Igatpuri, where she was exploited. This case highlights a severe breach of trust and exploitation of vulnerable individuals."
Legal Charges Filed Against Accused
An FIR has been registered against Ravindra Erande under multiple sections of the law. The charges include:
- Section 69 (sexual intercourse obtained through deceitful means) and Section 77 (voyeurism) of the relevant legal code.
- Section 67(A) of the Information Technology Act, which pertains to publishing or transmitting material containing sexually explicit acts in electronic form.
- Sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, given the victim's background.
Police officials are continuing their investigation to determine if there are more victims involved and to gather further evidence. The case underscores the importance of vigilance against such predatory behavior and the need for strict legal action to protect vulnerable communities.
