Nashik Police Arrest Delivery Agent in Major Drug Bust Operation
In a significant crackdown on narcotics, the Nashik city police's anti-narcotics squad has successfully arrested a 25-year-old delivery agent from Chetna Nagar, located near Indiranagar, for possession of illegal substances. The operation, which took place on Tuesday, resulted in the recovery of seven grams of mephedrone, commonly known as MD, with an estimated street value of approximately Rs35,000.

This successful raid was notably enhanced by the department's newly deployed sniffer dog, Jack, who played a pivotal role in helping the police team locate the concealed narcotics. Tip-Off Leads to Raid and Arrest
On February 17, Senior Inspector Sushila Kolhe of the anti-narcotics unit received specific intelligence indicating that an individual named Vaibhav Avhad, a resident of Chetnanagar under the jurisdiction of the Indiranagar police station, was storing mephedrone in his house for the purpose of sale. Acting promptly on this information, the anti-narcotics unit assembled a dedicated team and conducted a raid at Avhad's residence on Tuesday evening.
During the search of the premises, with the assistance of sniffer dog Jack, the police successfully located and seized the 7 grams of mephedrone. Vaibhav Avhad, who works as a food delivery person, was immediately taken into custody following the discovery.
Ongoing Investigation to Uncover Drug Network
The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the source from which Avhad procured the drugs and the locations where he was allegedly selling them. This probe is crucial for dismantling broader drug networks operating within the city and preventing further distribution of illegal substances.
