Swift Police Action Recovers Stolen Wedding Jewellery
In a remarkable display of efficiency, the Adgaon police in Nashik city successfully recovered 125 grams of gold jewellery stolen from a wedding hall earlier this month. The stolen items, valued at approximately Rs 12.5 lakh, were located at a house in Madhya Pradesh, although the primary suspect managed to evade capture during the police raid.
The Wedding Day Theft
The incident dates back to November 6, when a 52-year-old woman from Sai Nagari, Dighori in Nagpur, was in Nashik to attend her son's engagement ceremony. According to her complaint filed with the Adgaon police, she had securely kept her personal gold jewellery along with the special set intended for the bride in her purse. The bag also contained cash and her mobile phone.
The complainant distinctly recalled having the purse with her until 1:30 PM. During the traditional 'tika' ceremony, she momentarily set it aside. Upon returning to her seat, she was shocked to discover that her purse, along with all its valuable contents, had vanished.
The Investigation and Recovery
Acting promptly on the filed complaint, officials from the detection branch of the Adgaon police launched a thorough investigation. Their first crucial step was to meticulously examine the CCTV footage from the wedding hall. This digital evidence allowed them to identify the perpetrator and trace his origins to Madhya Pradesh.
Under the directives of Senior Police Inspector Umesh Patil, a special team was dispatched to the Boda area of MP. The operation was coordinated under the overall guidance of Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik. While the police team could not apprehend the burglar, who fled upon their arrival, they skillfully engaged with his relatives. Through persistent efforts, the team gained their trust and successfully secured the stolen jewellery.

Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik officially commended the detection branch team of the Adgaon police for their diligent work and successful recovery. The entire operation, from the day of the theft to the return of the jewellery, was completed in under a fortnight.
The elderly complainant, who was joyfully reunited with her precious belongings, expressed profound gratitude towards the Nashik city police. She praised their swift action and dedication in solving the case and recovering her stolen property in such a short timeframe.
