In a significant operation, the police in Nashik have successfully returned stolen goods worth over Rs 1.6 crore to their rightful owners. The handover took place during the 'Muddemal Return' programme, which was jointly organized by the Ambad, Indiranagar, Satpur, and MIDC police stations on Saturday.
Event Details
The programme was held at Mahesh Bhavan in the Ambad area. Individuals who had previously registered complaints regarding their stolen property were invited to collect their recovered items. The crime detection teams from the four police stations coordinated the efforts to ensure the return of the seized goods.
Breakdown of Recovered Items
The Ambad police station returned articles valued at over Rs 93 lakh, which were linked to 21 cases. Additionally, they returned missing items worth Rs 7.3 lakh from 40 other incidents. The Indiranagar police station returned goods worth over Rs 21 lakh from 10 cases. The Satpur police station handed over items valued at over Rs 11 lakh from 14 cases, while the MIDC police station returned articles worth over Rs 21 lakh from five cases.

The 'Muddemal Return' programme also served as a platform for the police to interact with the local residents, fostering better community relations. This initiative not only helped in returning stolen property but also strengthened the bond between the police and the public.
