Nashik Police Announce Traffic Control Measures for Eid-ul-Fitr

In preparation for the significant gatherings anticipated during Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, the Nashik city police have implemented a temporary traffic control plan to facilitate smooth vehicular movement and prevent congestion. The restrictions are scheduled to be active from 7am to 12pm on Saturday, targeting key areas where large crowds are expected.

Notification Details and Rationale

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Kirithika CM issued a notification highlighting the necessity of these measures. "Massive crowds are expected at Eidgah Maidan on Trimbak Road," the notification states. "People from surrounding areas like Dudhbazar and Chowk Mandai are anticipated to travel to Eidgah Maidan to offer Namaz, prompting the implementation of traffic restrictions to avoid traffic jams." This proactive approach aims to ensure public safety and order during the religious observance.

Major Road Closures and Diversions

The police have designated specific stretches of roads that will be closed in both directions to manage the influx of vehicles and pedestrians. The affected areas include:

  • Gadkari Signal to Chandak Circle

For commuters, alternative routes have been established:

  1. Vehicles traveling from Modak Signal to MICO Circle must detour via CBS, Tilakwadi signal, and proceed towards their destination. Conversely, those in the opposite direction should use MICO Circle, Chandak Circle, and head towards Hotel Sandeep.
  2. Vehicles moving from Gadkari Signal to Chandak Circle are required to travel via Hotel Sandeep, while those going in the opposite direction must take a detour via Sandeep Hotel.

Enhanced Security and Barricade Placement

To maintain law and order, the police have deployed heavy bandobust (security arrangements) across the affected zones. Barricades will be strategically placed at multiple locations to restrict vehicle movement within the area. These include:

  • Sarda Circle
  • Ghanshyam Laundry towards Ved Mandir
  • MICO Circle
  • St Francis Highschool
  • Swatantryaveer Savarkar Swimming Tank
  • Modak Signal
  • Gadkari Signal
  • Chandak Circle
  • Thakkar Bazaar
  • Annabhau Sathe Statue
  • Khadkali Signal

These measures are designed to create a secure environment for worshippers and residents alike, minimizing disruptions during the Eid-ul-Fitr festivities.
