The young woman, who was already married but residing at her maternal home, provided crucial information that led the police to Nandgaon. Upon rescue, she recounted to the authorities how the accused had transported her to Malegaon under false pretenses and then to Nandgaon in their car. There, she was introduced to a family and married off to a man in exchange for Rs 2 lakh, leaving her unable to contact her mother immediately. It was only through a clandestine phone call the following day that she could seek help, prompting the police action.
