Nashik's New MIDC Police Station Officially Launches Full Operations

The MIDC police station, now the 14th police station within Nashik city, officially became fully operational on April 1, 2026. This significant development marks a formal upgrade from its previous status as a police chowky, which had been functioning under the Ambad police station for nearly two years prior.

Background and Establishment Process

Senior police officers confirmed that while no formal inauguration ceremony was conducted, the facility transitioned seamlessly into a full-fledged station. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Kishore Kale explained that the MIDC police station was established following specific government orders to bifurcate the Satpur and Ambad police stations under the Nashik city police commissionerate.

By direct order of Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, the station launched its comprehensive operations on the specified date. The move responds directly to growing public demand, with the city police having submitted an official proposal for the new station back in 2023.

Jurisdiction and Coverage Area

The jurisdiction of the newly operational MIDC police station is extensive and strategically important. It encompasses:

  • Ambad MIDC industrial area
  • Area behind the NMC school in Ambad village
  • Keval Park and Navnath Nagar
  • Gharkul Yojana, Dattanagar, and Chunhale
  • Sanjeevanagar and the MHADA colony
  • Area behind Democracy Hotel up to Belgaon Dhaga
  • Tirdashet, Panjarpole, and Jadhav Sankul
  • Patil Park and the stretch from the CNG petrol pump on the Mumbai-Agra Highway to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue at Pathardi Phata

Evolution from Chowky to Full Station

While awaiting formal government sanction, the police department took proactive measures by establishing the MIDC Chunchale police chowky in the industrial area in April 2023. This interim facility was staffed with six officers and thirty constables, providing essential law enforcement services to the community during the approval process.

The state government finally granted formal sanction for the complete MIDC police station in July of last year, culminating a process that began with the initial proposal in 2023. This approval enabled the transition from chowky to full police station status, with the April 1, 2026 operational date representing the culmination of this administrative and logistical development.

The establishment of this new police station represents a strategic enhancement of law enforcement infrastructure in Nashik, particularly serving the industrial and residential areas within its expanded jurisdiction. This development addresses both operational needs and community demands for improved police presence and responsiveness in these growing sectors of the city.
