National Moot Court Competition Successfully Conducted at Vidyavardhaka Law College in Mysuru
A prestigious National Moot Court competition was recently organized at Vidyavardhaka Law College in the city of Mysuru, drawing participation from law students across multiple states. The event was inaugurated by MK Ramesh, a retired professor of law from the National Law School of India University in Bengaluru, who delivered an inspiring address to the attendees.
Emphasis on Learning and Healthy Competition
In his inaugural speech, Professor Ramesh advised students to cultivate an attitude where competition serves as a valuable tool for learning new concepts and skills. He highlighted that such events are crucial for personal and professional development in the legal field.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation from a total of 19 law colleges representing various states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka. This diverse participation underscored the national reach and significance of the event.
Promoting Intellectual Respect and Legal Skills
During the occasion, P Vishwanath, the honourable secretary of Vidyavardhaka Sangha and an engineer by profession, addressed the gathering. He stated that the moot court competition emphasizes healthy competition and fosters intellectual respect among students. Vishwanath further noted that such platforms are instrumental in helping future lawyers showcase and hone their advocacy and legal reasoning abilities.
The event was presided over by Gundappa Gowda, the president of Vidyavardhaka Sangha, who oversaw the proceedings and contributed to the smooth execution of the competition. The organizers expressed satisfaction with the turnout and the high level of engagement from all participating institutions.
