New Video Footage Surfaces in Fatal Dwarka South Road Accident
Fresh video evidence has emerged from the tragic road accident in Dwarka South, Delhi, which resulted in the death of 23-year-old Sahil Dhaneshra. The visuals reportedly depict a speeding Scorpio SUV colliding with his motorcycle on a single-lane stretch.
Details of the Collision and Police Investigation
Preliminary investigations indicate that the Scorpio, allegedly traveling at high speed, struck the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction before crashing into a parked Dzire car. Sahil Dhaneshra, the motorcycle rider, was declared dead at the scene. The video also shows the Scorpio narrowly avoiding a bus moments before the impact, highlighting the dangerous driving involved.
Police have shifted the injured taxi driver, Ajit Singh, to IGI Hospital, where his statement has been recorded while awaiting a final medical opinion. All three vehicles involved have been seized and mechanically inspected, with relevant documents verified and CCTV footage collected from the area.
An FIR has been registered at Police Station Dwarka South under Sections 281/106(1)/125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation is ongoing.
Juvenile Driver Apprehended and Granted Bail
Authorities confirmed that the Scorpio was allegedly being driven by a juvenile without a valid driving licence. The accused was apprehended at the scene, produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), and sent to an Observation Home. On February 10, the JJB granted interim bail to the minor, citing his Class 10 board examinations.
Footage Raises Questions About Reckless Behavior
Sources reveal that the video footage shows the Scorpio traveling at high speed moments before the collision. Investigators are examining claims that the occupants were recording social media reels prior to the crash and had overtaken a bus shortly before impact, adding to concerns about irresponsible driving.
Mother Alleges Criminal Activity and Demands Justice
Sahil’s mother, Inna Makan, has alleged reckless driving and demanded strict action. "My son was going to office. They were driving at extreme speed to make fun reels. The Scorpio was in the opposite lane performing stunts. This is not just an accident — this is criminal activity," she stated.
She further claimed that the driver did not apply brakes after the collision and alleged multiple prior overspeeding challans against him. "No one is safe on the road if minors drive without licences. Accountability must extend to the vehicle owner," she added, emphasizing the need for stricter road safety measures.
A Promising Life Cut Short
Sahil Dhaneshra, a BBA final-semester student, had secured admission to a university in Manchester and was preparing to pursue higher studies in the UK later this year. Described by family as focused and independent, he had taken up part-time work to support his education, making his untimely death a significant loss.
