DCP Dixit further added, “The complainant said the couple got married on November 22, 2025, and after that, the in-laws allegedly started taunting her over insufficient dowry and were pressuring her for a four-wheeler.” The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further action will be taken based on the findings.

Family’s Account

The woman’s brother revealed that their mother is currently admitted to a private hospital. He mentioned that his sister had visited the hospital on Saturday night to see their mother before returning to her in-laws’ house.

The family claimed they received a phone call from the in-laws’ home around 11 am on Sunday, informing them that the woman had died by suicide. However, by the time relatives arrived at the house, the body had already been brought down and shifted to a trauma centre, they alleged.
