Noida Pizza Shop Owner Detained After Spitting Allegations Lead to Scuffle

A violent confrontation erupted in Noida's Choda village after a fringe group accused a pizza shop owner of spitting on pizza dough while preparing food. The group claimed that CCTV footage showed the owner spitting on the food, but police stated that the allegation could not be independently verified. Nevertheless, authorities took the video seriously and placed the owner in preventive detention as investigations continue.

The pizza shop had been operating in the area for approximately four years, according to local residents. Members of the fringe group alleged that employees at the outlet informed them that the owner had a habit of spitting on food when working alone. The group reportedly obtained CCTV footage with the help of an employee, which they claimed clearly supported their accusations.

On Sunday, the group confronted the owner at the shop, leading to a scuffle during which the owner was allegedly assaulted. The owner denied the allegations, explaining that he sometimes blew air on hot food while cooking. As tensions escalated, locals contacted the police.

Subodh Kumar, Station House Officer of Sector 24 police station, confirmed that the owner was placed in preventive detention while the group's claims are investigated. The mob also accused the owner of threatening them and initiating the altercation.

Further investigation is underway to determine the veracity of the allegations and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
