Tragic Suicide of Noida Teenager: Deleted Data and Destroyed Laptop Preceded Gunshot

In a heartbreaking incident that has shocked the community, an 18-year-old boy allegedly took his own life using his father's licensed pistol in Badalpur, Greater Noida, on Saturday evening. The tragic event unfolded after the teenager meticulously deleted all data from his mobile phone and violently smashed his laptop on the floor.

Details of the Incident

Devkaran Rawal, a Class 12 student at NTPC School in Dadri, resided with his family in Dhoom Manikpur village. His family includes his parents and a younger brother who is differently abled. His grandfather, a retired Army personnel, now engages in farming in the village, while his father works as a property dealer.

According to police reports, Devkaran retreated to his room on the first floor while his parents were in their own room. He first deleted all data from his mobile device and then proceeded to damage his laptop by smashing it forcefully on the floor. Following these actions, he allegedly used his father's licensed pistol, which was kept at home, to shoot himself in the head.

Amit Bhadana, the Station House Officer of Badalpur police station, stated that authorities received information about the alleged suicide from the hospital where the boy was transported. "A police team immediately reached the hospital and learnt that the boy had shot himself in the head," he confirmed. The body has been sent for autopsy, with reports still pending.

Upon hearing the gunshot, Devkaran's parents rushed upstairs to find their son lying on the floor, drenched in blood. Neighbors quickly gathered and transported the bleeding teenager to a nearby private hospital, where doctors made desperate attempts to save him. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Ongoing Investigation

Police revealed that no suicide note was discovered in Devkaran's room. "We are now checking his phone and social media accounts to find out anything about the case," the SHO added. A senior police officer noted that the pistol was typically stored in the father's room, inside an almirah. The parents expressed that they were unaware when the boy accessed their room and removed the firearm.
