Woman Kidnapped, Drugged, and Raped in Nuh; Accused Record and Circulate Video
In a shocking incident in the Taoru area of Nuh, a 40-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped at knifepoint, drugged, and raped by two men on April 4. The accused also recorded the assault and circulated the video to blackmail her, according to police reports.
Details of the Alleged Crime
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on the afternoon of April 4. The woman was on her way to Dhulawat village to purchase medicines. After disembarking from a tempo, she was passing through a secluded stretch when the two men allegedly followed her. They threatened her with a knife, dragged her into a nearby jungle, and assaulted her when she resisted.
The complainant stated that the accused forced her to inhale an intoxicating substance, causing her to lose consciousness. Police said the men then raped her and recorded the act on a mobile phone. After she regained consciousness, the accused allegedly threatened her with the video and assaulted her again. Later that night, they left her by the roadside and fled, warning her against approaching the police or informing anyone, threatening to circulate the video.
Investigation and Legal Action
The woman informed her husband but did not immediately approach the police. The matter came to light the next day after the video was circulated locally. Based on her complaint, an FIR was registered at Sadar Taoru police station under Section 63 (rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material) of the Information Technology Act.
Police said efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused. A senior police officer stated, "We have recorded the victim's statement and a medical examination has been conducted. Further investigation is in progress." The case highlights ongoing concerns about violent crimes and digital blackmail in the region.
