Odisha Jailer Suspended Over Serious Misconduct and Jailbreak Controversy
In a significant disciplinary action, Santoshini Dash, the jailer of Kantabanji sub-jail located in Balangir district, Odisha, has been suspended following allegations of gross misconduct and dereliction of duty. Allegations of Jewelry Misappropriation Add to the Scandal
In addition to the jailbreak-related issues, Dash faced scrutiny over allegations of misappropriating gold jewelry belonging to a former woman inmate. The inmate, who was lodged in Choudwar jail last November in connection with a cheating case and released on bail the following month, later filed a police complaint. She alleged that the jewelry she had deposited with jail authorities was not returned upon her release.
Raula subsequently accused Dash of misappropriation in this matter. The suspension of Dash comes just two days after Raula paid Rs 1.9 lakh in cash to the ex-inmate as compensation for the missing ornaments, indicating the financial and ethical implications of the case.

While Dash had previously dismissed the charges as baseless, she was unavailable for comment following her suspension. This lack of response leaves many questions unanswered as the disciplinary proceedings move forward.
