One dead, four hurt in old rivalry clash in Satna village

A long-standing feud between two groups turned deadly in a Madhya Pradesh village, resulting in one man's death and leaving four others with serious injuries. The violent incident, rooted in an old rivalry, unfolded late on Friday night in Atra village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Nagod police station in Satna district.

How a Minor Argument Escalated into Tragedy

According to police officials, the clash originated from a seemingly minor argument. However, tensions quickly flared, and the disagreement rapidly escalated into a brutal physical assault. The groups attacked each other with sticks and other blunt objects in a violent confrontation that shocked the quiet village.

Dwarka Singh, a 45-year-old man, sustained critical injuries during the attack. He was immediately referred to the district hospital for urgent medical care. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries while en route to the medical facility, marking the sole fatality from the night's violence.

Victims and Police Response

The four individuals who were seriously injured in the clash include Billa Patel and Natthu Patel. All the injured victims were admitted to the Satna district hospital, where medical authorities stated their condition remained serious as they underwent treatment.

Nagod police station in-charge Ashok Pandey confirmed the grim details. "One person died and a few sustained injuries in the clash," he stated. Pandey indicated that preliminary investigations point towards an old enmity as the primary catalyst for the violence. "We suspect old enmity as the primary reason for the clash, and a detailed investigation is underway," he told reporters.

Ongoing Investigation and Manhunt

Police revealed that more than half a dozen individuals were involved in the assault. After the incident, the accused fled the spot, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. A hunt to arrest the accused has been launched, with police teams deployed to trace and apprehend those responsible.

The body of Dwarka Singh was sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Simultaneously, police personnel are recording the statements of the injured victims to piece together a complete sequence of events. The investigation remains active as authorities work to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent further escalation of the community conflict.
