According to police reports, the accused, identified as Ashutosh Kumar Singh (28), engaged in an argument with the couple, Geeta Devi and her husband Radheshyam, who operate a roadside vegetable stall. The disagreement intensified when Singh reportedly picked up an iron rod and launched a brutal assault on both individuals, causing severe injuries.

DCP (Varuna) Pramod Kumar confirmed that an FIR has been registered in the case. The accused jawan was arrested and subsequently sent to jail. During the investigation, police reviewed Singh's service record with officials from the PAC 34th battalion, uncovering a tainted history that included previous disciplinary actions and suspensions.
