Palamu murder solved over cold drink gargle

Daltonganj: Police on Monday claimed to have solved the murder case of a 38-year-old man, whose body was found at Belhara in Palamu district on May 9. The victim was later identified as Vishal Yadav.

Incident Details

Bishrampur SDPO Chiranjeev Mandal said that Yadav was allegedly stoned to death after a row over gargling with cold drink. Police said Yadav and three friends — Umesh Singh, Vikas and Abhishek — were drinking together at Belhara on that day.

“During drinking, Yadav gargled with a cold drink. It offended his three friends,” Mandal said. “The three then pounced upon Yadav and stoned him to death,” he added.

Arrests and Investigation

“Umesh has been arrested and sent to jail under Section 103 of BNS,” Mandal said. Two other accused are absconding and police are conducting raids to nab them. Investigators suspect that a prior grudge between Yadav and Vikas may have “added fuel to the fire”. Umesh has two cases registered against him at Pandu police station, officers said.
