Palamu Administration Enforces Strict Route Compliance for Ram Navami Celebrations
The Palamu district administration has issued a firm directive to all Ram Navami committees in Daltonganj, requiring them to strictly adhere to pre-approved route charts for their processions. This move aims to prevent potential law and order disturbances during the festive period.
Legal Action Threatened for Route Deviations
Administrative officials have explicitly warned that any deviation from the designated routes will not be tolerated. They emphasized that such actions could escalate into serious law and order issues, and violators will face appropriate legal consequences. The directive was formally communicated by Deputy Commissioner Sameera S during a district peace committee meeting held late on Wednesday.
Police Stress Importance of Prior Intimation
Palamu Superintendent of Police Reeshma Ramesan highlighted the critical need for committees to inform the police in advance about their processions. "Unannounced processions without any prior intimation to the police must be avoided. Abrupt processions could lead to significant problems," she stated. Ramesan cited a recent incident where Paton police were unexpectedly confronted with a Mangalwari Juloos on the streets, as no advance notification had been provided.
"This abruptness in taking out processions must be avoided to ensure public safety and smooth coordination," she added, underscoring the administrative concerns.
Safety Guidelines for Procession Materials
In addition to route compliance, the administration has issued specific safety guidelines regarding the materials used in the processions. SP Ramesan advised committees to construct Ram Navami flags using wooden poles or sticks, strictly avoiding any metal components. This precaution is crucial to prevent the risk of electrocution if the flags come into contact with overhead electrical wires.
Enhanced Surveillance with Drone Technology
Meanwhile, the Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal, the apex body overseeing Ram Navami celebrations in the district, announced plans to deploy drones for aerial surveillance of the processions. The outfit's chief, Mangal Singh, confirmed that these drones will operate alongside those deployed by the administration, providing an additional layer of monitoring to ensure orderly conduct.
This collaborative approach between the administration and local committees aims to balance festive traditions with public safety and legal compliance, setting a precedent for managed religious celebrations in the region.
