Panchkula Police Road Safety Campaign Targets Accident Zones

Panchkula Police Intensifies Road Safety Measures with Comprehensive Highway Campaign

In a determined effort to significantly reduce road accidents and enhance public safety, the Surajpur Traffic Police Station in Panchkula has executed a thorough road safety initiative. Spearheaded by In-charge Sub-Inspector Abhishek, the campaign focused on proactive measures across critical transportation corridors.

Strategic Installation of Warning Signage at High-Risk Locations

The police team meticulously identified and targeted accident-prone zones, commonly referred to as "black spots," along with other hazardous areas. They installed special warning sign boards at these locations, as well as at various T-junctions on the busy Shimla-Kalka Highway and Pinjore-Baddi Highway. These signs are designed to alert motorists in advance, encouraging them to remain vigilant, control their speed, and drive with heightened caution to minimize accident risks.

Engagement with Auto-Rickshaw Drivers for Regulatory Compliance

Expanding the campaign's reach, the police conducted special interactive sessions with auto-rickshaw drivers operating in the Mauli and Raipur Rani regions. During these engagements, drivers were sensitized to strictly follow traffic rules, avoid overloading their vehicles, adhere to designated routes, and prioritize the safety of their passengers at all times.

Permanent Closure of Illegal Road Cuts to Enhance Traffic Flow

A key enforcement action during the drive involved the permanent sealing of nine illegal road cuts found on the Narayanagarh-Raipur Rani-Mauli Road. These unauthorized access points had been frequently implicated in causing road accidents. Their closure is anticipated to promote a safer and more organized traffic flow, reducing potential hazards for all road users.

Official Statement on Safety Objectives

DCP (Crime and Traffic) Amrinder Singh emphasized the overarching goals of the initiative. He stated, "The primary objective of the Panchkula Police is to ensure the safety of the lives and property of its citizens. To prevent road accidents, it is imperative to address issues at black spots, close illegal road cuts, and raise awareness among the general public." This statement underscores the department's commitment to a multi-faceted approach in tackling road safety challenges.

The comprehensive campaign reflects a holistic strategy combining infrastructure improvements, regulatory enforcement, and public education to create safer road environments in Panchkula.
