The Patna district administration has taken comprehensive security measures for the Bakrid celebrations scheduled on May 28. Magistrates and police personnel have been deployed at 479 locations across the district to ensure law and order. District Magistrate Thiyagarajan S M and Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K Sharma issued a joint order directing officials to maintain strict vigil, monitor social media platforms, and take immediate action against any rumors or attempts to disturb communal harmony.
Special Arrangements at Gandhi Maidan
Special arrangements have been made for the main prayers at Gandhi Maidan. Devotees will enter through Gates 5 to 10, while vehicles will be allowed through Gates 9 and 10. The Patna Municipal Corporation has deployed suction machines to prevent waterlogging, and the public health and engineering department has arranged water tankers and water ATMs at key locations. Barricading and ground leveling work have been completed, and traffic police have identified parking zones. CCTV cameras have been activated, and a temporary police station, ambulances, medical teams, and fire tenders have been stationed at the venue.
Deployment Breakdown
Of the 479 deployment points, 153 are in Patna City, 85 in Patna Sadar, 80 in Danapur, 62 in Paliganj, 58 in Barh, and 41 in Masaurhi. Armed personnel and lathi forces have been deployed alongside magistrates. Reserve magistrates have also been stationed at control rooms to handle emergencies.
The administration has warned of strict action under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita against anyone spreading misinformation through social media platforms, including WhatsApp. Officials have been directed to intensify intelligence gathering and conduct round-the-clock patrolling during the festival.
