In a significant breakthrough, Patna Police have arrested an individual linked to a brazen robbery of Rs20 lakh that occurred on March 23. The incident unfolded near an apartment on AN Path under the Patliputra police station area, where three criminals on a motorcycle intercepted an employee of a cash management company who was riding a scooty. The assailants robbed him at gunpoint, making off with the substantial sum.
Formation of Special Investigation Team and Arrest Details
Following the robbery, senior police officers directed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case intensively. Leveraging technical analysis, CCTV footage, and intelligence support from the DIU Patna, the team successfully traced the accused. Criminal Background and Ongoing Investigation
City Superintendent of Police (Central) Diksha revealed on Wednesday that the accused has a serious criminal history, including a prior murder case and charges such as kidnapping for ransom, robbery, and violations under the Arms Act. She stated, "The police have identified the weapon used as a pistol. Two motorcycles were involved in the robbery, and it is suspected that there was an insider tip-off, possibly from a former employee."
Diksha further added, "The other two accused are still absconding. Raids are being conducted to arrest them and recover the remaining cash. Further investigation is underway to uncover the full details of the conspiracy." The police are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the fugitives and resolve the case comprehensively.
