The two robbery cases were registered under the Barh police station in Patna during the year 2024. These incidents involved dacoity in the Dayachak and Noniyabagi areas of Patna, targeting unknown persons. Prior to Sunny Kumar's arrest, seven other accused individuals had already been apprehended and sent to judicial custody in connection with these cases.
Sunny Kumar had been actively evading capture by frequently changing his locations and staying outside the state of Bihar. This tactic prolonged his time on the run, complicating police efforts to bring him to justice.

The arrest was made possible through a well-coordinated operation based on secret intelligence, technical analysis, and the collaborative efforts of the Barh police station team along with the Patna District Investigation Unit (DIU).
