Patna Excise Department Uncovers Illegal Liquor Manufacturing Unit in Baratpur

In a significant enforcement action, the excise and prohibition department in Patna district made a major breakthrough on Wednesday by discovering an illicit liquor manufacturing operation. The unit was being run covertly from a residential house located in the Baratpur area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Didarganj police station.

Tip-Off Leads to Vehicle Interception and Recovery

Acting on a credible tip-off, officials from the department swiftly moved to intercept a suspicious vehicle. During this initial operation, they successfully recovered a substantial number of empty bottles, which raised immediate suspicions about a larger illegal activity in the vicinity.

Raid Reveals Full-Scale Production Setup

Following the vehicle interception, a thorough investigation led the authorities to the specific house in Baratpur. Upon raiding the premises, they uncovered a complete and operational setup dedicated to the production and packaging of illicit liquor. The discovery included sophisticated equipment and materials used in the illegal manufacturing process.

Substantial Seizures Made During the Operation

The officials seized a significant haul of items from the site, which included approximately 40 litres of spirit, a fully functional packaging machine, and 335 empty bottles. These items are crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation and highlight the scale of the illegal operation.

Accused Flee, Vehicle Confiscated

Unfortunately, the individuals involved in the illicit activity managed to escape before the raid could apprehend them. However, the vehicle used in connection with the operation was confiscated by the authorities. Efforts are currently underway to trace and identify all those involved in this illegal liquor manufacturing racket.

The excise and prohibition department has reiterated its commitment to cracking down on such unlawful activities in the region, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in providing tips and information to combat prohibition violations effectively.
