Patna Police Conclude Teen's Death as Suicide After Comprehensive Two-Month Investigation

Police authorities in Patna have officially declared that the tragic death of a 17-year-old Class 12 student, who fell from the eighth floor of a building near AIIMS-Patna Golambar on February 12, was a case of suicide. This conclusion comes after an extensive two-month-long investigation that has ruled out any foul play in the incident.

Family Continues to Dispute Police Findings

The deceased student's family, however, remains unconvinced by the police findings and continues to demand a deeper, more thorough investigation. They have specifically raised concerns about the role of the boys who were captured in the CCTV footage from the scene. Despite the police's conclusive report, the family maintains that there are unanswered questions that require further examination.

Detailed Police Investigation and Findings

City SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh provided detailed information about the case, explaining that the girl, who was a resident of Phulwari Sharif, had gone to attend coaching classes when the tragic incident occurred. "Her body was discovered on the road near the coaching institute, with her slippers lying close by," Singh stated. "Following serious allegations from the family that she might have been pushed from the building or subjected to some form of wrongdoing, we conducted a comprehensive and detailed probe into all aspects of the case."

The police investigation included multiple critical components:

  • Thorough scanning of CCTV footage from the coaching center
  • Detailed site inspection and forensic analysis
  • Complete post-mortem examination
  • Questioning of three detained individuals
  • Administration of polygraph tests to those questioned

CCTV Footage Analysis and Police Conclusions

The CCTV footage revealed crucial sequences showing the girl climbing the stairs to the terrace, followed by one boy, with another boy seen going upstairs shortly afterward. The footage captured the moment the girl fell from the terrace. Both boys were subsequently seen coming back down the stairs, briefly looking at the body before fleeing the scene.

"No evidence of murder was found in either the post-mortem report or during our comprehensive investigation," emphasized SP Singh. "Based on technical evidence, witness statements, and forensic findings, we have concluded this case as a suicide. Our investigation has been thorough and methodical, examining every possible angle."

Ongoing Family Concerns and Police Response

Despite the police's conclusive findings, the family continues to express serious doubts about the investigation's outcome. They have specifically highlighted their concerns about the boys seen in the CCTV footage and believe their role requires more extensive scrutiny. The family's persistent demands for a deeper probe reflect their ongoing search for answers and justice for their daughter.

Police authorities have maintained their position, stating that no incriminating evidence emerged against those questioned during the investigation. The case has been officially closed as a suicide based on the accumulated evidence and investigative findings, though the family's concerns remain unresolved and continue to generate discussion in the community.
