Patna Cash Collection Agent Robbed of Rs 20 Lakh at Gunpoint in Brazen Daylight Heist
In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through the city, a money collection agent working for a private cash management company was robbed of a staggering Rs 20 lakh at gunpoint by motorcycle-borne criminals. The brazen robbery occurred on Monday near Alpana market, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Patliputra police station area in Patna.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Robbery
The victim, identified as Pankaj Kumar, was performing his routine duties as a collection agent. On Monday afternoon, he visited the Sai Mandir area to collect cash from various local shops in the Patliputra locality. By approximately 3 PM, he had gathered around Rs 20 lakh from his clients, which he securely placed in a bag.
Pankaj was en route to deposit the substantial sum at the Central Bank of India branch located on Boring Road. However, his journey was abruptly interrupted as he navigated a lane near the bustling Alpana Market. According to his detailed account, two masked criminals on motorcycles swiftly surrounded him in a coordinated ambush.
Violent Confrontation and Threat to Life
"One biker strategically blocked my path from the front, while the other pointed a pistol directly at me from behind," Pankaj recounted. When he attempted to resist their blatant loot bid, the situation escalated dangerously. The criminals issued a chilling threat, warning they would shoot him if he did not comply immediately.
During the ensuing altercation, one of the assailants managed to snatch the bag containing the entire Rs 20 lakh in cash. After successfully executing their crime, all the accused individuals fled the scene at high speed, heading towards the Boring Road roundabout to make their escape.
