A petty dispute between two factory workers in Sandhu Nagar, Ludhiana, escalated into a murder on Thursday afternoon. The victim, identified as Dharmendra, aged around 26, was a native of Uttar Pradesh and had been employed in Ludhiana for the past five years.

Incident Details

The factory owner informed the police that contractor Rahul alerted him about a dispute between the workers around 2:30 am on Thursday. Upon learning that Dharmendra had sustained serious injuries, an ambulance was called, and he was rushed to the hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries before receiving medical aid.

Background of the Accused

Sources revealed that Dharmendra had brought the accused, who hails from the same village in Uttar Pradesh, to work at the factory about a month ago. The factory owner stated that during the argument, the accused struck Dharmendra on the head with a stool. At the time of the incident, only the two workers were present in the factory.

Police Investigation

Police officials reported that both parties were under the influence of alcohol when the argument began. An officer stated that legal action would be initiated after the victim's family members arrive in the city. The identity of the accused, believed to be around 18-19 years old, will be disclosed once a formal case is registered.
