Pilibhit Horror: Uncles Accused of Raping Niece, Selling Younger Sister
Pilibhit: Uncles Accused of Raping, Trafficking Nieces

Pilibhit Police Register Case Against Maternal Uncles for Heinous Crimes Against Nieces

In a shocking case from Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit district, police have filed charges against two men for allegedly committing horrific crimes against their own nieces. The accused, who are maternal uncles to the victims, stand accused of raping the 17-year-old elder sister and trafficking the 16-year-old younger sister for monetary gain.

Orphaned Sisters Left in Care of Relatives

According to the detailed complaint filed on Friday evening, the tragic sequence of events began during the school summer vacation in June last year when the two sisters went to stay at their maternal uncles' home in a village under the jurisdiction of Barkhera police station. The situation took a devastating turn a month later when the girls learned that their mother had been murdered by their father, who was subsequently arrested and imprisoned, leaving the sisters completely orphaned and dependent on relatives.

The complaint reveals that the abuse began shortly after the girls were left in the care of their relatives. In September, the two uncles took the younger sister away from the home, after which her whereabouts became completely unknown. The elder sister later overheard her uncles discussing a monetary transaction on the phone, leading her to fear they had sold her 16-year-old sibling. "After that, I could not find out where my sister was," she stated in her formal complaint.

Escalating Abuse and Sexual Assault

With the younger sister gone, the abuse turned directly toward the remaining girl. She alleged that in early March of this year, while she was asleep, her elder uncle entered her room, forcibly removed her clothing, and raped her while the younger uncle stood guard outside the door to prevent any intervention or escape.

The trauma continued as the men then took her to the campus of the Superintendent of Police office and coerced her into recording a video statement. In this forced recording, she was made to declare she was returning to her parental home voluntarily. "They threatened to kill my sister if I did not say what they wanted," the victim recounted in her complaint, highlighting the psychological manipulation and threats used to silence her.

Struggle for Justice and Police Investigation

The girl described how she approached various relatives for assistance in filing a formal complaint but found no support from family members. Eventually, she managed to submit the complaint herself, demonstrating remarkable courage in the face of systemic failure.

Barkhera Station House Officer Pramendra Kumar provided additional context to TOI, revealing that one of the maternal uncles was actually the complainant in the murder case against the girls' father for killing their mother. This complex family dynamic adds another layer to the investigation.

SHO Kumar confirmed that the victim declined a medical examination in writing, a decision documented by authorities. "We are now waiting for her court statements for further legal action against the two accused," he stated, outlining the next steps in the judicial process.

Legal Implications and Search for Missing Sister

Police officials noted that the complainant's exact age is still being verified through her educational documents. If she is confirmed to be a minor, sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act will be added to the First Information Report, potentially increasing the severity of charges against the accused.

Kumar further confirmed that investigators have begun tracing clues about the missing younger sister and are actively questioning the two accused about her current location and circumstances. The search for the trafficked 16-year-old represents a critical component of this ongoing investigation.

This case highlights multiple systemic failures in protecting vulnerable children, particularly those who become orphaned and dependent on relatives who may exploit rather than protect them. The Pilibhit police continue their investigation while advocates call for stronger safeguards for children in similar circumstances.
