SRINAGAR: A 19-year-old man from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) was apprehended in the Karnah sector of Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday, shortly after he crossed the heavily guarded Line of Control (LoC).

Joint Operation by Security Forces

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a joint team of the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir police intercepted the individual near Simri village in Kupwara. The operation successfully prevented any potential security breach, the Army stated.

Identity and Questioning

Police identified the intruder as Assad Khan, a resident of Muzaffarabad. He is currently being questioned to determine the circumstances under which he entered Indian territory. This marks the second such incident in the past two weeks.

On June 1, a 22-year-old man named Zeeshan Ahmad was detained after crossing the LoC into the Uri sector of Baramulla district. Both cases are under investigation by security agencies.
