The Samarth police in Pune on Tuesday arrested a 23-year-old man, the son of a police constable, for allegedly sodomising a 12-year-old boy at a police colony in the city. The minor victim is also the son of a police constable. The incident took place around 7:30 pm on Sunday.
Complaint and Arrest
The mother of the minor boy, aged 30, lodged a complaint with the police on Monday, leading to the arrest of the accused. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone I) Krushikesh Rawale provided details of the case to the media.
According to Rawale, the unemployed accused approached the boy and lured him with a promise of a chocolate. He then took the boy to an isolated room on the premises of the police colony and committed the crime. After the act, the accused threatened the boy with dire consequences if he disclosed the incident to anyone.
How the Incident Came to Light
The boy initially remained silent and did not tell anyone about what had happened. However, his mother noticed a change in his behaviour and questioned him. The boy then narrated the entire ordeal to her, prompting her to file a police complaint.
The police acted swiftly and arrested the accused on Tuesday. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
