Police Recover Stolen Silver Crown of Tuljabhavani Again

The Pimpri Chinchwad police have once again recovered the stolen 1.3kg silver crown of Goddess Tuljabhavani from a temple in Talegaon Dabhade. The crown was stolen for the second time on June 13. Police have arrested two accused in the case.

First Theft and Recovery

The silver crown was first stolen on May 23 by an accused who had posed as a devotee. The Talegaon Dabhade police recovered the crown after arresting two men from Etawah in Uttar Pradesh and reinstalled it at the temple on June 12. However, it was stolen again the very next day.

Second Theft and Investigation

On the same night, cash was also stolen from the Kadjai Temple in Indori village of Maval taluka. A case was subsequently registered with the Talegaon MIDC police. Senior inspector Santosh Patil of the Talegaon MIDC police said officers recovered CCTV footage from the spot. After examining the footage, police found that the suspects had fled towards Chakan.
