Lavukant Naik, a 44-year-old driver employed with the Public Works Department (PWD) from Wadi-Talaulim, has been taken into custody for allegedly killing Brahmanand Naik, a 40-year-old resident also from Talaulim.

The tragic event occurred on March 21 last week on the Borim-Talaulim internal road, specifically at the Tamshirem-Borim section. According to police reports, Lavukant Naik allegedly rammed his car into the two-wheeler being driven by Brahmanand Naik. The victim was returning home when the collision took place, causing him to lose balance and sustain severe injuries.
Initially, authorities treated this as a case of attempted murder. However, further investigation revealed that Lavukant allegedly acted with clear intent to kill. Police stated that the suspect portrayed the incident as an accident, but evidence suggests otherwise.
Medical Outcome and Legal Proceedings
Brahmanand Naik was immediately rushed to Goa Medical College (GMC) for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries on Friday, turning the case from attempted murder to murder.
