Poultry Farm Owner Found Dead in Vaishali District; Rs 1 Lakh Missing
In a shocking incident, a poultry farm owner was discovered dead at Saidpur Bahsi village under the Jandaha police station area of Vaishali district on Monday. The police have confirmed the grim discovery, which has sent ripples through the local community.
Victim Identified as Jag Narayan Sahni
The deceased has been identified as Jag Narayan Sahni, a 35-year-old resident of Saidpur Bahsi village. He was the son of Baiju Sahni. According to initial reports, Jag Narayan left his home on Sunday evening, carrying a substantial sum of Rs 1 lakh with him. His intended destination was his poultry farm, where he often stayed overnight.
Family's Concern and Discovery of the Body
When Jag Narayan failed to return home by Monday morning, his family grew increasingly worried. They dispatched his younger brother, Jagat Kumar, to check on him at the poultry farm. Upon arrival, Jagat made the harrowing discovery of his brother's lifeless body. Crucially, the Rs 1 lakh that Jag Narayan had been carrying was nowhere to be found, indicating a possible robbery.
Jagat Kumar recounted the tragic events: "Jag Narayan left home on Sunday evening carrying Rs 1 lakh with him to go to the poultry farm. He kept the money to give it to some lender. He used to stay there overnight. When he didn’t return home till Monday morning, I went to the poultry farm to search for him. Upon reaching there, I found his body. The money was also missing from his possession."
Family Lodges FIR and Suspects Multiple Motives
The family has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against six individuals in connection with the death. They have pointed to two primary lines of suspicion that could explain the motive behind the killing.
Firstly, the family informed the police that Jag Narayan had taken loans from certain individuals who had been threatening him. They suspect that these lenders might be involved, possibly over a financial dispute.
Secondly, a more personal angle has emerged. Jag Narayan's son, Rahul Kumar, had eloped and married Manisha Kumari, the daughter of a local villager named Shivnath Mahto, approximately five months ago. Following a village panchayat, the girl was returned to her family. However, tensions remained high.
Somari Devi, Jag Narayan's sister, provided further insight: "About a week ago, the girl’s mother, Renu Devi, came to our house, hurled abuses, and threatened to kill us. We suspect that Jag Narayan was murdered and his money looted due to this enmity."
Police Investigation Underway
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Jandaha, Manoj Kumar, stated that the body was handed over to the family after a postmortem was conducted at Hajipur Sadar Hospital. He confirmed that an FIR has been registered against six persons, including villager Shivnath and his family members, based on the statement provided by Jag Narayan's family.
SHO Manoj Kumar emphasized: "The investigation is going on from all angles. We are exploring every possible lead, including the financial and personal disputes highlighted by the family."
Victim's Background and Survivors
Jag Narayan Sahni is survived by three sons. The incident has left the family in deep mourning and the local community in a state of shock, as they grapple with the violent loss of a local businessman.
The police are urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue their probe into this tragic case, which intertwines potential financial crime with deep-seated familial conflicts.
