Prayagraj: Four Sub-Inspectors Suspended for Dereliction of Duty and Indiscipline
In a significant disciplinary move, Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar suspended four sub-inspectors on Tuesday for charges of dereliction of duty and indiscipline. The action underscores a broader initiative to enhance police accountability and efficiency in the district.
Officers Facing Suspension
The suspended officers include SI Santosh Paswan and SI Dinesh Rai from Antoo police station, SI Anupam Patel, who served as outpost incharge at Belkharnathdham-Dilippur police station, and SI Ajay Kumar Anchal from the reserve police lines. Their suspension follows a thorough review of their conduct and work performance.
Reason for Disciplinary Action
A senior police officer explained that SP Deepak Bhukar is continuously reviewing the conduct and work ethic of police personnel to control crime and maintain effective law and order. "In furtherance of this initiative, strict disciplinary action has been taken against the officers for negligence, apathy, and arbitrariness in the discharge of official duties," the officer stated.
Recent investigations revealed instances of extreme laxity and arbitrary conduct by the sub-inspectors regarding their official responsibilities. Such behavior was deemed a violation of Police Regulations and constituted acts of indiscipline, prompting the immediate suspension.
Departmental Inquiry Initiated
In addition to the suspension, a departmental inquiry has been launched to further investigate the matter. This step aims to ensure a comprehensive assessment of the officers' actions and to uphold disciplinary standards within the police force.
