The assailants, riding a bike, snatched a bag containing jewellery worth lakhs of rupees, cash, and a licensed revolver from the victim, PK Soni, near Panchayat Bhawan Road in Chakdeeha village, under the jurisdiction of Manda police station.

The jeweller was returning home after closing his shop when the loot occurred. According to police reports, the three bike-borne miscreants intercepted Soni and assaulted him with the butt of a gun when he resisted their attempt. The attack left him injured, and he was subsequently admitted to SRN Hospital for treatment.

The stolen items included approximately 150 grams of gold, 5 kilograms of silver, Rs 1 lakh in cash, and a licensed revolver. The total value of the loot is estimated to be several lakhs of rupees, highlighting the severity of the crime.

Police Response and Investigation

Upon being informed of the incident, senior police officials swiftly reached the spot to conduct investigations. CP (Law and Order) Dr. Ajay Pal confirmed that four police teams have been formed to work out the case and apprehend the culprits.

In a significant development, police have detained six persons for questioning in connection with the robbery. Dr. Ajay Pal stated that the miscreants targeted the jeweller, assaulting him before making off with the valuable bag.
