Prayagraj Police Apprehend Two Wanted Criminals in Coordinated Sunday Operations
In a significant breakthrough for law enforcement in Uttar Pradesh, Prayagraj police successfully arrested two wanted criminals in separate operations on Sunday, demonstrating their continued vigilance against criminal activities in the region.
Seven-Month Manhunt Ends with Murder Suspect's Capture
The Kaushambi police division achieved a major victory by apprehending Suman Prakash, a resident of Ratgaha village, who had been evading authorities for the past seven months. Prakash was wanted by Charwa police in connection with the brutal murder of a minor boy, and carried a substantial cash reward of Rs 15,000 on his head for information leading to his capture.
The case dates back to August 2025, when Ramni, a woman from the same village, filed a First Information Report (FIR) against six individuals including Suraj, Vijay, Rohit, and others. She accused them of killing her grandson on August 19, 2025, while the boy was returning home after consulting a doctor. While Charwa police had previously arrested five of the accused, Suman Prakash remained at large until Sunday's operation.
Notorious Thief Apprehended with Stolen Property
In a parallel development, the Paschim Sarira police division arrested Saleem Ahmed, a resident of Ugrasenpur, who was described as a notorious thief with five criminal cases pending against him. During the arrest operation, police seized significant evidence including a television set, a sound system, and Rs 5,360 in cash from his possession.
The simultaneous arrests highlight the Prayagraj police department's comprehensive approach to tackling crime across different categories, from violent offenses to property crimes. These operations demonstrate improved coordination between different police divisions within the Prayagraj jurisdiction, resulting in the removal of two dangerous individuals from the streets.
Police officials have emphasized that these arrests send a strong message to criminals operating in the region that law enforcement remains committed to pursuing all wanted individuals regardless of how long they have been evading capture. The successful conclusion of the seven-month manhunt for Suman Prakash particularly underscores the persistence of investigative teams in bringing murder suspects to justice.
