Prayagraj Police Enhance Holi Security with Extensive Patrols and Surveillance
In a proactive move to ensure safe and peaceful Holi celebrations, the Prayagraj Police Commissionerate has significantly intensified patrolling across the district. Authorities have identified more than 110 hotspots and over 3,900 Holika Dahan sites, where enhanced security measures are being implemented. This initiative comes as part of a comprehensive plan to manage the festive period from March 2 to March 8, during which numerous Holi Milan programmes are scheduled.
Multi-Layered Security and Traffic Arrangements Deployed
A senior police official revealed that elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for the festival. Additional police teams have been assigned specifically for patrolling in mixed populated areas, aiming to prevent any untoward incidents. Both civil and traffic policemen have been deployed at major crossings, intersections, and prominent spots to manage crowds and ensure smooth traffic flow.
To further strengthen surveillance and response capabilities, the police have mobilised companies of para-military forces alongside local intelligence unit teams. This multi-layered approach is designed to provide robust security coverage throughout the district, addressing potential risks at identified hotspots and Holika Dahan locations.
