Every morning, Subhash Malik would leave for his property consultancy office around 7 am after having tea. His office was conveniently located about 50 metres from their residence. As part of his routine, he would return home with milk after cleaning the office premises. Interestingly, he often left his mobile phone at home during these morning hours.

On the fateful Tuesday, Subhash Malik left home as usual but failed to return. The first indication that something was amiss came when the milk vendor informed the family that Malik had not come to collect milk as per his regular schedule.
His wife, Pushpa Malik, grew concerned and went to check on him at his office around 11 am. To her horror, she found him lying unconscious on the floor in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital in Hansi, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
