A property dealer was shot dead in broad daylight under the Musahari police station area in Muzaffarpur district on Wednesday. The incident occurred near Rohua Chowk when the victim, identified as Ankit, was riding his motorcycle. Two assailants on another bike chased him and fired multiple shots at close range. The entire attack was captured on nearby CCTV cameras.

CCTV footage reveals attack details

According to police, the footage shows Ankit riding his bike wearing a helmet, while another motorcycle with two men follows him. The pillion rider approaches within a foot and opens fire. As Ankit loses control and begins to fall, the attackers continue shooting, firing at least four more rounds before fleeing. He collapsed on the road in a pool of blood.

Victim sustained multiple injuries

Ankit suffered five bullet wounds: one to the head, two to the face, and two to the chest. Locals rushed him to Musahari primary health centre, from where he was referred to Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH). Doctors there declared him dead on arrival.

Police suspect land dispute

Police said Ankit was involved in property dealing and also ran a soil business. Preliminary findings suggest the murder may be linked to a land dispute. Officers reached the spot soon after the incident, cordoned off the area, and recovered empty cartridges.

Investigation underway

Muzaffarpur SSP Kantesh Kumar Mishra said a special team has been formed to nab the attackers. “Investigations are underway and CCTV footage is being analysed,” said City SP Mohibullah Ansari.
