Police Constable Mowed Down by Speeding Car in Jaipur Rural
A tragic incident in the Raysar police station area of Jaipur Rural has claimed the life of a young police constable. The fatal accident occurred on Saturday night when an overspeeding car hit and killed the officer on the spot.
Details of the Fatal Incident
The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Rahul Bunkar, a resident of Ajabpura village. Bunkar was posted as a personal security officer (PSO) to an officer in Gogunda, Udaipur. He had returned to his home in Ajabpura on leave just three days before the tragedy.
The incident took place around 8:30 PM on the Dausa–Manoharpur highway, not far from his village. According to police reports, Bunkar had finished his dinner and was walking towards his under-construction house to sleep for the night. At that moment, a car coming from the opposite direction at high speed struck him.
The Station House Officer (SHO) stated that the impact was so severe it threw the constable onto the road. The driver did not stop after the initial collision but instead ran over him again before fleeing the scene with the vehicle.
Police Investigation and Community Grief
Law enforcement agencies have launched a search operation to trace the absconding driver and the vehicle involved. Police teams have been deployed and are meticulously scanning CCTV footage from nearby stretches of the highway to identify the car and its driver.
On Sunday morning, the post-mortem examination was conducted at the NIMS Hospital mortuary by Raysar police. The body was subsequently handed over to the grieving family.
The sudden death has sent shockwaves through Ajabpura village. Residents remember Rahul Bunkar as a soft-spoken and duty-dedicated individual. He is survived by his parents, his wife, and his two-year-old son.
Legal Action and Ongoing Efforts
A formal case has been registered in connection with the hit-and-run. Police officials have assured that all efforts are underway to apprehend the absconding driver at the earliest. The investigation remains active as authorities work to bring the perpetrator to justice.
