Tragic Pune Accident Claims Life of Dhayari Resident, Injures Driver
A devastating road accident in Pune has resulted in the death of a young resident and left another seriously injured. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday on the busy Katraj–Navale Bridge road, sending shockwaves through the local community.

The victim, identified as Bhima Rajendra Jadhav (27), a resident of Dhayari, tragically lost his life in the crash. The car driver, Shubham Dumble (27), sustained significant injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. According to police reports, the accident took place around 2.45am when their vehicle violently collided with a slow-moving truck from the rear.
Police Investigation and Sequence of Events
Senior inspector Sharad Zine of the Ambegaon police station provided crucial insights into the circumstances leading to the tragedy. "Jadhav and Dumble had visited a temple in Dive Ghat earlier that night. After offering prayers and having food, the duo were returning to Dhayari when the unfortunate accident occurred," he stated.
The police investigation reveals that both vehicles were traveling from Katraj Chowk towards Navale Bridge along a downward sloping stretch of road. "The truck was initially moving at a good speed but suddenly slowed down and changed direction. The car, which was following closely behind, applied sudden brakes but failed to stop in time, resulting in a severe rear-end collision," explained Inspector Zine.

Authorities confirmed that both young men were employed with different private companies in Pune city. The police have taken swift legal action by registering a case of rash and negligent driving against the truck driver involved in the incident.
