A 9-year-old boy, critically injured after a truck hit the scooter he was riding with his two elder sisters on June 6, died during treatment at a hospital on Tuesday night. The victim, Pavan Bodare, lost his sisters Sejal (17) and Akshara (15), who were killed instantly. The accident occurred at Chadhar Phata on the Nira-Morgaon Road, about 100 km from Pune.
Details of the Incident
The siblings, from Phaltan taluka in Satara district, were en route to their maternal uncle's house in Murti village, Baramati taluka. A truck coming from the opposite direction collided with their scooter, killing Sejal and Akshara on the spot.
Pavan sustained severe injuries and was first taken to a hospital in Baramati. He was later transferred to a hospital in Pune, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment, a police officer said.
