Pune Highway Murder: Odisha Man Found Hacked to Death Near Koregaon Bhima

In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old man was discovered murdered on Tuesday along the Pune-Nagar highway in Koregaon Bhima, approximately 26 kilometers from Pune city. The Pune Rural Police have identified the victim as Suken Mahato, a resident of Odisha.

Body Found at Under-Construction Building Site

Sub-inspector Mahesh Dongre of the Shikrapur police station reported that Mahato's body was found on the premises of an under-construction building along the highway on Tuesday morning. The victim had been brutally hacked to death with sharp weapons, indicating a violent attack.

"His identity was ascertained with the help of the documents found with the body," stated Dongre, confirming the identification process.

Victim's Background and Investigation Details

Mahato worked for a private company in the MIDC area and had been residing in the Shikrapur locality for the past several months. The police have registered a murder case at the Shikrapur police station and are actively investigating the motive behind the killing.

"The reason behind his murder is being ascertained," Dongre added, emphasizing that the investigation is ongoing.

To expedite the probe, the Pune Rural Police have constituted four specialized teams to trace and apprehend the suspects involved in this heinous crime. The authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
