Tragic Accident Claims Life of Pedestrian in Pune's Katraj Area
A devastating road accident on Wednesday afternoon resulted in the death of a 35-year-old pedestrian in Pune. The victim, identified as Arjun Mhaske, a resident of Katraj, was fatally struck by a private luxury bus while attempting to cross the Katraj–Kondhwa Road near the Pisoli locality.

The tragic event unfolded around 1 pm when Mhaske, who worked as a daily wage labourer, was crossing the busy thoroughfare. According to preliminary police reports, the bus was en route to Phursungi and was executing a right turn when its rear portion collided with Mhaske. The impact caused him to fall onto the road, sustaining severe injuries.
Eyewitnesses and passersby at the scene immediately sprang into action, alerting others and assisting in shifting the critically injured man to Sassoon General Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the swift response and efforts of medical personnel, Mhaske succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Sub-inspector Anil Nimbalkar of the Kalepadal police station confirmed the details of the case. The police have registered a formal case against the bus driver, citing allegations of rash and negligent driving as well as causing death due to negligence.
