The Deccan Gymkhana police on Wednesday arrested a 34-year-old man from Dattawadi and detained his minor accomplice in connection with the murder of 32-year-old Krushal Kasbe of Dhankawdi, a former security guard of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Murder Over Money Dispute

Senior inspector Girisha Nimbalkar of the Deccan Gymkhana police stated, "The murder was the fallout of a dispute between Kasbe and the accused, Omkar Kamble of Dattawadi, over money." Kasbe's body was found along the riverbed road on April 19 with his throat slit by a sharp weapon. The police identified him through a tattoo on his hand. Kasbe had left his job as a PMC security guard three years ago.

Nimbalkar said, "We confirmed Kamble's involvement in the murder with the help of technical investigations." A police team traced the scooter Kamble used to escape after the murder. "We found cellphones of Kamble and his minor accomplice in the scooter's boot," she added.

Kamble and the 17-year-old minor were taken into custody on Wednesday evening. During questioning, it emerged that Kamble had promised Kasbe a job and taken money from him. When Kasbe did not get the job, he began pursuing Kamble for the return of his money. Heated arguments ensued as Kamble refused to repay, leading Kamble to murder him.
