Pune Police Arrest Six, Detain Three Minors in Bhosari MIDC Rivalry Attack

The Bhosari MIDC police in Pune have taken swift action following a violent clash between two groups, arresting six individuals, including a woman, and detaining three minors. The incident, which erupted late on Sunday night in Khande Vasti, Bhosari MIDC, stemmed from an old rivalry, resulting in six persons sustaining injuries.

Details of the Violent Incident

According to police reports, the confrontation occurred when a gang of eight persons, comprising three minors, allegedly attacked a 52-year-old resident of Khande Vasti with sticks and iron rods. The victim, who suffered severe head injuries, stated in his complaint that the assault was linked to a longstanding dispute. When his relatives intervened to assist him, they too were targeted by the accused, leading to injuries for two of them.

The police have registered two separate cases in response to the incident. One case involves charges of murder attempt under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with sections 189, 190, and 191 for rioting, against the accused persons. An officer from the Bhosari MIDC police confirmed, "We arrested one of the attackers and detained three minors. We issued notices to the minors."

Counter-Complaint and Further Arrests

In a twist to the case, one of the minors involved also filed a complaint against five individuals, including a woman, alleging that they assaulted him and his two friends with stones and iron pipes. The officer added, "We arrested five of them on the charge of murder attempt." This led to a total of six arrests, highlighting the complex nature of the rivalry and the reciprocal violence.

The police are continuing their investigation into the matter, emphasizing the seriousness of the charges under the newly implemented Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The incident has raised concerns about community safety and the enforcement of law in the area, with authorities urging residents to resolve disputes through legal channels rather than violence.
